Job description

The American Composite Manufacturers Association (ACMA) is seeking a Manager, Standards Development and Industry Relations to manage the development of diverse standards on the properties and performance of Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composite materials and products while observing the relevant procedures and processes for promulgation of consensus standards. The Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders inside and outside of ACMA to further ACMA standards program goals.

Duties include:

Plan, communicate, prepare, and execute standards development committee meetings that include agenda, meeting pre-read materials, coordination with committee chair, meeting slide deck, minutes, and follow-up on meeting action items.

Manage standards projects; manage multiple projects at a given time.

Monitor standards that are done by relevant organizations in other markets outside of ACMA.

Engage stakeholders in the standards development process, and work with them to ensure their input is given in a timely manner.

Actively recruit stakeholders to participate in the standards development process.

Interact with engineers, scientists, and other technical stakeholders on a consistent basis.

Build relationships with key stakeholders.

Make independent decisions based on knowledge and available information as appropriate.

Apply industry accepted project management practices, procedures, and techniques and take project ownership in the initiation, development, publishing, and maintenance of standards and oversight of deliverables.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:

Excellent organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent skills using virtual communication platforms such as MS TEAMS and Zoom for committee collaboration.

Excellent skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and project management software such as Planner.

Ability to balance multiple projects and to get up to speed on issues quickly.

Results-oriented can-do attitude.

Able to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality documents.

Manage/maintain membership database and create surveys.

Able to log, track, and plan projects and provide status reports to members, senior staff and Board.

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively with software applications.

Able to travel up to 10%.
Experience

3-5 years of standards/technical or project management work experience.

4-year college degree, preferably in a STEM field.
