A week in the life of aLead Platform Engineer: Design and implement scalable platform architecture in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Lead the development and deployment of platform components, services, and applications. Workclosely with developers to streamline code deployment and establish CI/CD pipelines, making environments more consistent and reliable. Optimize performance, security, and cost-effectiveness by evaluating and selecting appropriate technologies and maintaining CI/CD pipelines. Drive security best practices and troubleshoot complex issues to minimize downtime. Ensure availability and scalability of environments for software teams, focusing on automation, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps practices Performing requirements analysis, requirements gathering, and integration for all platforms Investigating and resolving operational problems with other engineering and technical personnel Workon project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases within the customer's production IT environment Providing direction and guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers Job Requirements Active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility DoD 8570IAT Level II Certificationrequired (e.g.,Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP) Bachelor's degree and 10+years of related experienceas a Platform Engineer or similar role Experience designing and maintaining highly available, scalable, and secure architectures in cloud and on-premises environments across IL5 to IL6+ domains. Expert in AWS/Azure with strong understanding of cloud services and networking. Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift Experience working in Agile development teams. At least 2 years of experienceadministering Linux (RHEL) systems proficient in Linux administration, including managing users, permissions, networking, and storage. comfortable with commands for system monitoring, package management, and shell scripting Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Systems, EMC SANs, and VMware products Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex system issues AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is$160,000 - $180,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
