Overview Nakupuna Federal is looking for a Policy Analyst to support a DoD client in the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) . The position will support the client in reviewing, researching, analyzing, and updating DoD procurement policies related to the program office. This role requires an organized critical thinker with excellent communication and collaboration skills. Responsibilities The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Review and draft recommendations on DoD procurement regulations, policies, and directives to support management of small business policies within DoD. Conduct comprehensive research on policy issues using qualitative and quantitative methods. Analyze data and information to understand the effectiveness of existing policies and identify areas needing improvement. Stay up to date with related legislative and regulatory developments. Communicate updates as appropriate to senior leaders. Develop and formulate policies and strategies that address specific issues. Draft written materials such as white papers, reports, and briefing slides to respond to requests for information. Prepare detailed reports and policy briefs that summarize research findings and recommendations. Present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders and policy-making bodies clearly and concisely. Coordinate and liaise with the DoD stakeholders to ensure policy alignment in the execution of similar programs. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and other relevant parties, to gather insights and opinions. Ensure all policy documents and reports are current and comply with relevant laws and regulations. Qualifications Skills and Qualifications: Nakupuna seeks a team member capable of conducting research and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data to make impactful decisions. This role requires intellectual rigor and the ability to navigate complex political landscapes. Ideal candidates will possess analytical skills, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills. Education and Experience: This position requires a Master's degree from an accredited institution. The following are desirable levels of experience: 5 years of experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience with Government acquisition and procurement policy, particularly small business programs. Proven experience delivering briefings to senior-level leaders. Work Location: Work is performed in the National Capital Region. Clearance: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation: Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers. Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergencies. Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and work on a computer.
