Thompson Gray, Inc. welcomes minority and veteran applicants. Thompson Gray, Inc. is seeking a Power Apps Developer / Software Developer / Software Engineer for a Hybrid position. Job Description: The Power Apps Developer will be responsible for application development projects at a Department of Army Command. This includes complex, user-facing applications with dynamic selectors, connectors and other features. Applicants must show demonstrated capabilities to develop large scale applications in Power Apps using advanced functions, properties, and inputs. The front-end responsiveness and design of each application also requires efficient and effective data modeling of received inputs to return reportable and manageable datasets. The Developer will be responsible for the end-to-end process from gathering of initial requirements to data modeling and full lifecycle management of the application (design, permissioning, sustainment, etc.) . A hybrid environment with select onsite work is requested, however full-time remote work is available for exceptional candidates. Your day-to-day work will include: Provide application development expertise, leadership, and support on MS PowerApps. Design underlying data structures for optimal application performance and back-end connectivity in coordination with other disciplines. Interface with client SMEs to gather requirements, collaboratively build applications, and execute User Acceptance Testing. Develop high-quality, scalable Power Apps solutions that automate manual processes, leveraging Agile methodologies and best practices in software development to enhance operational efficiency. Ensure thorough understanding of the development requirements and proposed applications and be able to communicate the same to all organizational levels. Provide ongoing technical support, utilizing diagnostic techniques and proactive problem-solving to troubleshoot and maintain optimal application performance and user satisfaction. Document code effectively by using clear and concise comments, adhering to comprehensive documentation standards, and ensuring that all functions and modules are well-explained to enhance clarity and maintainability. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in Power Apps and across the Power Platform ecosystem, continuously exploring new, innovative solutions to enhance application and automation functionality and improve user experience. When directed by the project manager, collaborate, and coordinate with other agencies, military personnel, civilians, and contractors regarding PowerApps (automation development, best practices, data management, scalability and performance, etc.). At a minimum you should have: Programming experience and familiarity with modern programming frameworks, languages, and tools (C#, .NET, JAVA, HTML, etc.) Experience using MS PowerApps and other applications within the MS PowerPlatform Experience with using SharePoint Online and/or Azure SQL as an application back-end storage. Programming experience with at least one other programming language. Coursework may be substituted for work experience. Experience with Software Development Lifecycle Management. Familiarity with parsing API endpoints and JSON data Applicants MUST be U.S. citizens able to obtain a SECRET-level clearance. Candidates with a current SECRET (or higher) clearance are highly desired.
