Job description
Overview Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a Senior Azure DevOps and Cloud Engineer to join our talented and innovative team. This position reports to the Systems Team Manager for the execution of a large size, multi-year contract to the Integrated Personnel and Pay System - Army (IPPS-A) Army Military Payroll (AMP). The Senior Azure DevOps and Cloud Engineer will be responsible for developing Azure DevOps pipelines, supporting application development and deployment; Working with software development teams on proper integration of code into source control and automate code deployments; Implementing and configuring monitoring and alerting systems keeping in mind the availability and performance of applications and infrastructure; Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to build and deployment processes, infrastructure, and application performance; Implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC); Researching the latest Azure DevOps tools and technologies and making recommendations on their adoption to improve efficiency and productivity; Providing technical guidance and supporting development teams in adopting DevOps industry standard practices, including version control, branching strategies, and release management; Working with security teams on compliance with security policies; and, Document processes, procedures, and industry leading practices for Azure DevOps to enable knowledge sharing and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Collaboration will be an integral part of this role, and the Senior Azure DevOps and Cloud Engineer should expect to communicate frequently and openly with other professionals and the numerous Agile Teams across the AMP program. Responsibilities The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Ability to develop and orchestrate Azure DevOps via CI/CD pipeline, and provisioning Ability to write code for pipelines, previous programming experience required. Ability to architect an automated software solution with open-source tools like Gitlab, Jenkins Artifactory, and other open-source scanning tools, etc. Experience with serverless runtimes (Java, Python, TypeScript, PHP, and Linux containers). Containerization experience ( Podman , Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) required. Open-source automation server experience Infrastructure as Code ( IaC ) experience preferred. Windows and Linux experience required. Infrastructure Mgmt. - (Oracle Enterprise Manager, VMWare) ETL, Data Integration, and Private Cloud Appliance (PCA) - Ab Initio preferred. Provide recommendations with justification, and sound direction to drive decisions by government. A proactive, self-starter, able to help guide Junior DevOps engineers in a team-oriented environment; client-facing (not just lab-ready), and capable of communicating effectively and coordinating across technical projects with varying customers and vendors. Qualifications Education and Experience: BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Bachelor's degree with 4-6 years of experience within the F ederal government, DoD, Army, or IC and/or private sector preferred. Skills/Qualifications: DevOps, CompTIA Security+ or other certificate for IAT Level 2 preferred. Previous DoD experience and/or military services background a plus. And the following skills/qualifications are desired: DOD NIPR and SIPR experience Serverless databases (RDBMS) and execution models. On-demand, auto-scaling configurations. Scalable elastic applications and systems. Oracle Solaris (version 11) for on-prem environments (RHEL, OEL, Windows) Databases - Oracle 19c (RAC, Active Data Guard, Golden Gate, RMAN); MS SQL Server Oracle Service Bus (External Data M gmt. ), Oracle Golden Gate (Data Replication) Planning - Azure Boards Version Control - Azure Repos, PHIRE Unit Testing - JUnit / NodeJS Unit Testing Software Composition Analysis (SCA), Static Code Analysis (SAST), CAST Imaging Artifact Storage - Azure Artifacts, Gradle, Maven, NPM Change Management / Configuration Management (CM) / PHIRE Testing - Selenium, Unified Functional Testing, App and DB Logging - Splunk and Audit Vault REST, Web Services, SFTP experience a plus Kibana and Oracle Business Intelligence experience a plus for reporting and analytics Oracle Identity Management experience for authentication and authorization Clearance Requirements: This position requires a DoD Secret clearance. Must be a U.S. Citizen. Travel Requirements: Infrequent travel may be required . Work Location: Work location will be in Arlington, Virginia 2 days on-site with a hybrid option. Occasional travel may be required.
