Job description
TIAG is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to join our team in Arlington, VA supporting the Office of Naval Research (ONR) requirement to develop an enterprise Portfolio Data System (PDS) to full operating capability (FOC) for the ONR. This is a hybrid position, reporting onsite up to 3x per week. PDS will provide enterprise financial visibility of the Science and Technology (S&T) portfolios at both the ONR Leadership and Project Officer levels. The Business Analyst will capture PDS requirements and manage all business documentation ensuring that project artifacts are up-to-date, accurate, and accessible to relevant stakeholders. Responsibilities include: Collaborates with stakeholders, including business leaders, project managers, and end-users, to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements. Uses various techniques such as interviews, workshops, and surveys to capture detailed information. Analyzes business processes, systems, and data to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for improvement. Develops and presents recommendations for enhancing business operations and achieving strategic objectives. Creates clear, comprehensive, and well-organized documentation, including business requirements documents, process maps, user stories, and functional specifications. Ensures that documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders. Works with the technical team to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications. Contributes to the design and development of solutions that address business needs and align with project goals. Maintains effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Provides updates on project progress, manage expectations, and address any concerns or issues that arise. Supports the testing phase by developing test cases, performing user acceptance testing (UAT), and validating that solutions meet business requirements. Coordinates with the QA team to ensure the quality and functionality of deliverables. Assists in the management of project activities, including tracking milestones, managing timelines, and ensuring that deliverables are completed on schedule. Contributes to project planning and reporting as needed. Stays current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies. Identifies opportunities for process improvements and propose solutions that enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Required Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field 8+ years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role, with a proven track record of successfully managing business analysis projects. Technical Skills: Proficiency in business analysis techniques and tools (e.g., requirement gathering, process modeling, data analysis). Experience with business analysis software and tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Visio, JIRA, Confluence). Familiarity with database systems and data querying (e.g., SQL) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to dissect complex business problems and develop practical solutions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical and business concepts to diverse audiences. High attention to detail and accuracy, with a focus on producing high-quality documentation and deliverables. Experience with Agile methodologies, project management tools, and practices.
