Responsibilities Peraton is currently seeking to hire a Senior CyberSecurity Engineer (IET) who will become a part of Peratons' Department of State (DoS) Diplomatic Security Cyber Mission (DSCM) program providing leading cyber and technology security experience to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes. Location: Rosslyn, VA; a Hybrid work arrangement. Our DSCM program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical and administrative support to aid and advise DoS Cyber & Technology Security (CTS) Directorate. This includes protecting a global cyber infrastructure comprising networks, systems, information, and mobile devices all while identifying and responding to cyber risks and threats. In this role, you will: Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and trends in the industry.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative solutions.
Conduct feasibility studies and pilot projects to assess the potential of new technologies.
Provide technical expertise and support during the integration of new technologies.
Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices.
Develop and deliver training sessions to educate team members on new technologies.
Create detailed documentation and reports on technology assessments and implementation processes.
Develop a Technology Roadmap that reflects industry trends and work with Vendor partners to conduct Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) assessments to drive operationalization of innovative technologies that can securely be deployed to support the foreign diplomacy mission
Create pilot program assessments that demonstrate capabilities for adoption with Diplomatic Security stakeholders.
Qualifications Requirements: 14 years with Bachelor's degree; 12 years with Masters; 9 years with PhD. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Possess one at least ONE of the following certifications, OR, be able to obtain prior to start date: CASP+ CE; CCISO; CCNA Cyber Ops; CCNA-Security; CCNP Security; CEH; CFR; CISA; CISM; CISSP (or Associate); CISSP-ISSAP; CISSP-ISSEP; Cloud+; CySA+ ; GCED; GCIA; GCIH; GICSP; GSLC; SCYBER
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities.
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technological landscape.
Knowledge of current technology trends and a passion for innovation.
Experience with AI, machine learning, blockchain, IoT, or other emerging technologies.
Basic understanding of Linux operating systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS).
Understanding of Cloud Platform capabilities and configuration
Familiarity with command-line tools and shell scripting.
Basic knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Familiarity with popular security frameworks is important like the NIST AI 100, CSF2.0, OWASP LLM Top 10, etc.
U.S. citizenship required
Active Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain a final Top Secret security clearance. Target Salary Range $146,000 - $234,000.
