Overview Nakupuna Federal is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to support an Office of the Secretary of Defense client. The Senior Financial Analyst will perform high-level financial analysis, including creating financial plans, managing the office's financial management tool, preparing budget exhibits, and handling budgeting and budget execution for all financial accounts managed by client office. Responsibilities The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign additional duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Prepare financial reports by collecting, formatting, analyzing, and explaining information. Supporting tracking the execution of program funds with the Services and Defense Agencies for reporting and execution at the OSD level. Assist in strategic decision-making by providing financial analysis and guidance on new projects and initiatives cost implications and financial viability. Explain and interpret complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial audiences. Produce status of funds reports for Senior Executives weekly. Prepare budget exhibits quarterly to track the execution of current funding and develop spending plans for future financing. Draft funding documents such as MIPRs and coordinate with recipient offices to ensure funding can be received. Draft data analysis and reports to support budget planning and POM cycle development. Utilize Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), Hyperion, and other DoD systems of record to run reports and perform daily duties. Evaluate risk levels in financial transactions; conduct risk assessment and mitigation planning. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards across all analyses and reporting. Qualifications Skills and Qualifications: The Senior Financial Analyst role is essential for maintaining the program office's financial health and making strategic decisions based on well-informed information and insights. This position demands strong financial expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills. Ideal candidates will have a robust finance background, familiarity with DoD financial systems, strong analytical abilities, and the capacity to guide and influence business decisions at a senior level. Education and Experience: This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. The following are desirable levels of experience: 6+ years of experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Proven experience delivering briefings to senior-level leaders. Bachelor's degree. Work Location: Work is performed in the National Capital Region. Clearance: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Must be a U.S. citizen. Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum, be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation: Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
