Are you an experiencedSystems Administratorwith demonstrated experience supporting DoD requirements? Join our Joint Staff J-8 team at the Pentagon! As aSystems Administratoryou will: Performhigh level functional and IT analysis. Managedaily activities of configuration and operation of business systems which may be mainframe, mini, or client/server, based. Optimizesystem operation and resource utilization, and performsystem capacity analysis and planning. Receive a robust benefits package that includes Employee Stock Ownership Plan . A week in the life of aSystems Administrator: Provides assistance to users in accessing and using computer system. Maintains organization's servers and workstations. Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems. Performs system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Applies principles and methods to difficult problems in technical areas to arrive at automated solutions. Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation, and makes charts and graphs to record results. Prepares and delivers presentations and briefings. Job Requirements Bachelors' degree from an accredited college or university with a curriculum or major field of study in computer science, information system plus three (3) years of task related experience; OR Associates' degree from a college or university with a curriculum or major field of study in computer science, information system, plus six (6) years task related experience; OR Applicable training certificate issued in accordance with guidelines provided by the software vendor (i.e. Microsoft MCSE/MCSA, Oracle DBA,) from an accredited training institution plus ten (10) years of task related experience. All System Administrators require the clearance and capability to perform duties on networks operating at the SIPR, SCI and SAP levels. Certified in compliance with DoDD 8570.01m as an IAT level 2, including an operating system / computing environment certification from an accredited training institution or center for specified software. The salary/hourly range for this position is $110,000 - $135,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
