The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues. The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E , Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S , DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future. We have an immediate need for a Training Program Analyst to provide full-time onsite support at the Pentagon. Responsibilities SPA is seeking a Training Program Analyst with a demonstrated record of success in dynamic, high-impact environments to work within a small team to provide policy and staff support for the implementation and assessment of DoD training policies and activities. The individual will play a role in a cross-functional, high-performance team assessing and monitoring the Joint training event execution, developing and facilitating training engagements across the Joint Force, and supporting analytic events for the government client. The successful candidate will directly engage with external clients and stakeholders. Develop, update, and coordinate action memos, decision memoranda, congressional responses, briefing materials, and conduct background research. Build staffing packages, coordinate response tracking, and follow-up on responses or questions. Prepare briefing materials for senior leaders to facilitate and track timely decisions. Work through bureaucratic stoppages and/or logjams, solve problems, mitigate risks, and help move staffing packages. Act as focal point for scheduling, preparation, and facilitation of meetings, including in-person and secure video conferencing. Participate in individual and team-wide data analysis efforts. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant work experience Active DoD Secret clearance Joint Training domain experience, familiarity with JTS, JTT, JTIMS or DRRS, and/or experience on Combatant Command or Service Component staff Demonstrated experience performing Action Officer (AO) staffing duties, including drafting and completing DoD staff work Data analysis experience and understanding of associated data visualization techniques Strong written and oral communication skills, and an ability to gain consensus among peers and lead working groups across organizations Ability to communicate effectively at Flag and Senior Executive Service (SES)-levels Desired: Experience with policy development, including: drafting, formatting, tracking, staffing, reviewing, updating and adjudicating inputs for DoD Directive(s), Instruction(s), Manual(s) and memos Experience utilizing CATMS, Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), Sharepoint, MS Access Experience using an enterprise-level social collaboration platform to create, share, and preserve knowledge (e.g., milSuite; DODTechSpace, IntelShare, APAN or Slack) Working knowledge of Pentagon/OSD administrative processes that support staff coordination
