Summary Must have an active Secret or Top Secret Clearance We are seeking a skilled Windows Server Engineer to join our team and provide support for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). As a Windows Server Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining Windows server infrastructure within the DISA environment. You will collaborate with a team of professionals to ensure the availability, security, and optimal performance of DISA's Windows server systems. Your expertise will contribute to the successful operation of critical systems that support the defense and security of our nation. Responsibilities Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Windows server infrastructure in accordance with DISA guidelines and best practices. Monitor and manage the performance and availability of Windows server systems to ensure optimal functionality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Implement and maintain security measures, including access controls, user management, and system hardening, to protect sensitive data and comply with DISA security requirements. Conduct regular system audits and reviews to identify vulnerabilities, recommend improvements, and implement necessary changes to enhance system performance and security. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, trends, and industry standards related to Windows server systems and DISA requirements. Provide technical guidance and support to team members and end-users, addressing inquiries and resolving complex technical issues. Develop and maintain documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with DISA standards. Qualifications Active DoD Secret Clearance at minimum - required. Must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Top Secret clearance - preferred. Active CompTIA Security + required. At least 4-6+ years of Windows Server administration/engineering experience. Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience as a Windows Server Engineer, preferably within a DISA or government contracting environment. In-depth knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) and related technologies, such as Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP. Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and experience implementing and maintaining security controls in accordance with DISA requirements. Must be fluent with virtualization technologies, particularly VMware vSphere, and must be able to manage servers in that technology. Experience with server deployment and management tools, such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and PowerShell scripting. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex server-related issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, MCSE: Core Infrastructure) are a plus. EEO Statement ValidaTek is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
