Data Automation Engineer
Location: Springfield, VA
Customer: NGA
Clearance Required: Top Secret/SCI Eligibility How You'll Make an Impact as a Data Automation Engineer: Primary Responsibilities:
• Enhance Data Processes: Design and implement automation solutions to improve data capture, refinement, and processes.
o Interface with device APIs to collect operational metrics.
o Administer and automate data pipelines between various environments.
• Collaborate & Deploy: Work closely with team members to produce and deploy code via GitLab projects.
• Best Practices: Utilize best practices for source control, testing, and deployment of software changes.
• Problem Solving: Diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex issues related to data structures.
• Data Management: Develop methods to eliminate data incompatibilities among systems, and recommend policies and standards for effective data management operations.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in efforts to increase data availability, quality, and access speed.
• Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of designs and configurations, ensuring continuity for recurring tasks. Work Environment:
• In-office requirement: 80%
• Travel requirement: 0% What You'll Need to Succeed:
Required Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of systems engineering experience.
• Experience in scripting, coding, or software development.
• Proficiency with Linux/Windows command-line.
• Automation mindset with experience in system administration and/or DevOps environments.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain a CI poly. Desired Skills:
• Experience with Python and shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with Database technologies (Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL) and writing SQL commands.
• Version control experience with Git, and GitLab workflows.
• Understanding of Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently within a small team. Bonus Skills:
• Web App development experience (Flask, Django, React, etc.).
• UI/UX design experience.
• Experience with analytics tools like Tableau.
• Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience with DoD/IC agencies and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP). Location: On Company Site
