Duties of an HVAC Technician ATI is seeking a highly motivated, qualified, and experienced HVAC Technicians with TOP SECRET clearances. Positions required to maintain and repair HVAC equipment throughout a new facility located in Springfield, Virginia. Duties may include, but not be limited to, the following: • Adding refrigerant to or removing refrigerant from equipment; • Installing and troubleshooting heating and cooling systems; • Cutting, welding, soldering, and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures; • Replacing component and parts (pumps, pipes, fans, etc.); • Using power and hand tools safely to support the facilities; • Maintaining air and water treatment systems; • Inspecting refrigerant systems for leaks; • Reading blueprints & schematics, utility plans, mechanical drawings, and electrical and wiring diagrams; and • Entering data into a Computerized Maintenance Management System. Required Qualifications for an HVAC Technician • Minimum TOP SECRET Clearance required - additional security clearance investigation upon hire may also be required; • Journeyman HVAC or Master HVAC license; • EPA Universal certification; • High school diploma or equivalent; • Must demonstrate proficiency with the following: - familiarity with building codes, ordinances and regulations of state and local authorities pertaining to HVAC and - proficiency with ASHRAE standards to include ASHRAE 55 -Thermal Environmental Conditions for Human Occupancy, ASHRAE 62.1 - Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality, and ASHRAE 180 - Standard Practice for Inspection and Maintenance of Commercial Building HVAC Systems.
