Job Title: SharePoint/System Engineer
Location: Chantilly, VA This position is eligible for a $5,000 Sign-on Bonus Overview:
Varada Consulting is seeking a well-rounded and experienced SharePoint/System Engineer to join our team. As a SharePoint/System Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining data files, system security, and data integrity for networked computer systems. This role involves implementing best practices, solving complex problems, and providing expert guidance. The engineer will manage system performance, backup processes, and ensure security compliance. Leadership of functional teams and independent problem-solving is expected. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide operational support for VMware servers, virtual networking, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure system availability using tools like vRealize Operations Manager and LogInsight for troubleshooting and capacity planning.
• Design and deploy enterprise-class SAN storage and backup infrastructures, including HPE Simplivity, Synergy, and CommVault.
• Support Commvault Data Protection services, troubleshooting backup failures, and maintaining data protection infrastructure.
• Assist in resolving technical challenges related to desktop support, security, and performance.
• Investigate and resolve operational issues in collaboration with other technical teams.
• Provide IT systems engineering support for technologies like Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, Active Directory, and VMware vCenter.
• Participate in the engineering of system releases and improvements in production environments.
• Enhance and maintain security applications like Sentris and ensure compliance with cybersecurity controls.
• Adhere to Change Management and ITIL-based processes for system updates and issue resolution.
• Maintain system baselines and implement security measures, including patching and vulnerability assessments. Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree or 7+ years of relevant IT experience.
• 5+ years as an enterprise systems administrator with deployment automation tools.
• DoD 8570 Certification (IAT Level II required, IAT Level III desired).
• Strong expertise in Windows-based systems, including hardware, software, networking, and storage.
• Advanced knowledge of SharePoint (Online, 2016/2019) and customization with PowerShell and SPFx.
• Strong SQL Server skills for administration, query writing, and performance tuning.
• Experience in IT infrastructure design, Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation. Preferred Qualifications:
• Backend SharePoint experience.
• Familiarity with SENTRIS.
• ITIL v4.0 or Foundation Certifications. Physical Requirements:
• Sedentary position with occasional office movement.
• Must communicate effectively with team members and clients, sometimes through presentations. Security Clearance:
