Job description

Position Summary: We are looking for a Financial Administrator (FA) to join our finance team, providing comprehensive financial execution support to the directorate. This role includes financial policy guidance, voucher processing, General Ledger analysis, and customer support. The FA will work in Chantilly, VA, with periodic travel to McLean, VA. Key Responsibilities: • Financial Transactions: Process vouchers, obligate PCS travel orders, and review credit card statements. Conduct General Ledger analysis and monitor for abnormalities. Handle approximately 90 vouchers and 100 PCS/travel obligations per month. • Customer Support: Answer finance-related questions and provide support to sponsor field locations. Interact daily with customers via email, Skype, phone, and in-person. Interpret and explain Sponsor regulations and policies. • Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team, with daily interaction with team leads and certifiers. Provide support to a workforce of over 3,000 officers. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative environment. Work Environment: • Office Structure: Nine staff officers including a Chief, Deputy Chief, SME, and two teams. Teams are divided based on the offices they support. • Schedule: Flexible work hours between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. No more than 1,860 hours annually, with no additional hours required. Periodic travel (2-3 times per month) between Chantilly and McLean, VA. Qualifications: • Skills: Intermediate proficiency in Sponsor financial systems, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook. Basic proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. • Experience: Prior experience with Sponsor systems is highly preferred. Ability to interpret and apply financial regulations and policies. • Attributes: Detail-oriented with good analytical skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Willingness to learn complex parts of financial systems on the job. Additional Duties: • General Ledger Monitoring: Monitor reports for delinquencies and abnormalities. Assist customers in clearing and correcting issues. • Policy Adherence: Ensure all work adheres to Sponsor regulations and policies. Keep updated with changes in financial regulations and policies. Notes: • The FA will not be required to create or generate reports but will assist in updating them. • No travel outside the Washington Metropolitan Area (WMA) is required. • The FA will not serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) or manage others.
