Job description

We are looking for an experienced Information System Security Manager (ISSM) to help lead and maintain our information security posture at our HQ in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you will develop and enforce security policies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations while managing classified corporate assets within the framework of Intelligence Community Directive 503 (ICD-503) and NIST Risk Management Framework. You will oversee the implementation of security measures, manage documentation processes, and work collaboratively with various teams to enhance our security posture.
Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a formal information security program and policies tailored to your area of responsibility.
Ensure compliance with IT-IA-IM requirements for classified assets, following applicable statutes, regulations, and directives.
Collaborate with logistics and security teams to maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT components approved for government use.
Oversee the creation and approval of essential security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSP), Security Requirements Traceability Matrix (SRTM), Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&M), and CONOPS.
Coordinate insider threat programs with stakeholders to safeguard government information systems.
Communicate security threats and vulnerabilities effectively at the asset/system level to relevant stakeholders.
Monitor processes to identify, track, and mitigate system vulnerabilities, ensuring an appropriate operational security posture.
Work closely with the NS2 Mission FSO and the Insider Threat Program Senior Official to ensure awareness and compliance.
Utilize ServiceNow (SNOW) for documentation of information system security engineering activities and compliance workflows.Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering, or a combination of related experience, technical training, and professional certifications.
Required: DoD 8760 IAT/IAM level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE, CASP+ CE).
Preferred: DoD 8570 IAT/IAM level III certification (e.g., CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO).Qualifications: U.S. Citizen with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) processes as per Intelligence Community Directives (ICD-501, ICD-502, ICD-503) and CNSSI 1253.
Proven experience in developing and documenting Security System Plans, including familiarity with:
OMB Circular A-130
Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)
Control Selection for National Security Systems (CNSSI 1253)
NIST SP 800-18 Rev 1
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (SNOW) or similar systems for enterprise risk management.
Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deliverables with minimal oversight.
Proficient in running system scans and interpreting results.
Strong analytical skills, able to integrate new knowledge during client interactions.
Expertise in information security principles and risk management practices.
Familiarity with NIST Special Publications 800 series for computer security.Desired Qualifications: Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Cyber Security.
Advanced writing skills for articulating complex ideas to both executive leadership and technical staff.
Ability to apply analytical techniques to gather information, define work problems, design solutions, and develop procedures.Position Clearance Requirement:
TS/SCI with polygraph
