Senior Network Architect
Job Location- Chantilly, VA Overview:
Varada Consulting is seeking a well-rounded and experienced Senior Network Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data center administration and networking. As a Senior Network Architect, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of security, performance, and reliability.
Responsibilities: • Act as the technical lead for a team of system and network engineers.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and management of computer and information networks, including datacenter LAN, virtual infrastructure, and Windows server environment.
• Perform network analysis and planning to optimize network performance and security.
• Work closely with engineers, program managers, and technical staff to ensure project success.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including network designs, security measures, and test plans.
• Participate in reviews and evaluations of technical products, processes, and systems.
• Maintain a high level of technical proficiency and stay current with industry trends and developments.
• Research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software. Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Digital Forensics, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in network architecture and design.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco network hardware including routers, switches, and security appliances.
• Experience with network storage technologies (NFS, iSCSI), virtualization (vSphere) and server administration.
• Knowledge and experience with networking protocols and configurations including OSPF, BGP, HSRP, multicast, SIP, QoS, VLANs, and MPLS. • DoD 8570 IAT Level II - Security+ (or equivalent) & CCNA or VCP
• Familiarity with network and computer security measures and protocols.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Skills:
• Cisco ISE / 802.1x
• Cisco Unified Communications Manager
• VMware NSX
• VMware Cloud Foundations
• Experience working with secure encrypted networking devices (i.e., Taclanes) and communication circuits, protocols, and configurations.
