Responsibilities Peraton has a great opportunity for a SRSoftware Quality Assurance Engineer in Chantilly, VA supporting our Intelligence Community (IC) customer. At the heart of national security, we've been embedded into this cutting-edge program for nearly a decade. You will be working in a rewarding, mission focused environment, cutting edge software design, development, and deployment, contributing to the protection and defense of national space assets. Your efforts will fundamentally change what Space Domain Awareness and Mission Protection mean for our Nation. Skyfire is a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Indications and Warning (I&W) system. Its purpose is establish a repository of resident space objects (RSOs), find RSOs of interest, and provide data to ground operators. Located in Chantilly, VA, the Skyfire team uses: programmatics, sensor modeling, and system engineering expertise to deliver this world-class SDA I&W system. What you'll do: Independently develops and executes test scripts to ensure that quality software is provided for release to production and to certify system changes. Produces expert level test plan documents and requirements. Develops test control databases. Performs solution testing confirming business requirements. Maintains test databases and ensures their integrity and currency. Distributes test data from control database to development staff to satisfy adequate unit testing. Develops, compiles, documents, and runs automated test scripts and test procedures. Runs regression tests. Tracks status of defects. Provides quality assurance testing for all systems to ensure the development and distribution of quality products. Assists with roll-out of systems documentation. Produces lists of defects that are to be resolved and incorporated into future releases of the application as required.
Communicates with analysts and programmers about formal testing plans, problems, and results. Develops technical documentation and reports. Manages the release management process for all changes to the baseline IT infrastructure. Ensures all processes are adhered to appropriately throughout project lifecycles. Ensures all existing processes are fully documented, suggesting improvements, updating documentation, and communicating all process changes to relevant stakeholders.Qualifications Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience. Additional four years experience will be considered in lieu of a degree This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain a poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance. SAFe Agilist (or equivalent) Five (5) years experience with software testing Five (5) years experience creating test plans/procedures Five (5) years experience in an Agile software development environment Desired Qualifications:
Experience supporting unit, system, interface, integration, and verification testing
Familiarity with automated testing, DevSecOps, and CI/CD
Experience supporting customer-facing test events or requirement sell-off activities Experience working in a Linux based environment Experience working with an RDBMS (Postgres, MySQL, etc.) Experience creating or maintaining automated software testing scripts/tools (Selenium, Cypress, etc.) Experience working with Jira, Jenkins, Gitlab, Ansible Experience with Agile Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS), cloud storage devices (S3, Amazon RDS)
Experience working/interacting with microservice architecture (Docker container focused)
CompTIA Security + Certification or any other Information Assurance (IA) certification in accordance with DoD 8570-01.M Cyber Workforce Management guidelines for IA Technical (IAT) or IA Manager (IAM) levelsBenefits: Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan. Target Salary Range $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
