Responsibilities We are looking for a Space Acquisition Systems Engineer to provide systems engineering and technical advisory services to a rapidly expanding Government Intelligence Community (IC) customer. The customer is developing the next generation of space and ground systems, architectures, and hardware and software solutions. The Space Acquisition Systems Engineer will serve as the System Program Office (SPO) Subject Matter Expert (SME) providing programmatic oversight and acquisition support to facilitate Developer deployment of new space protection capabilities into space operations. The Space Acquisition Systems Engineer collaborates within a team of mission-related SMEs to plan, develop, and execute new acquisitions/ECPs, guide the program through Milestone Decision Authority (MDA) directed reviews, and provide technical analysis, as required, to assist the Government customer in monitoring contract execution. Innovative Subject Matter Expert of Dev Sec Ops to fill key position and drive integration and devops implementation for a Government Customer. The candidate needs to have experience with tools enabling automated testing and integration, and with AWS specifically in regard to key services e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, KMS, CloudFormation, IAM. This position acts as a strategic advisor to Senior Customers and must have hands-on experience in designing, building and maintaining continuous integration/continuous delivery build pipelines. Provides acquisition strategy, acquisition planning, and systems engineering expertise to support software development and deployment of ground systems space protection capabilities Supports development of pre and post award documentation in support of program objectives including Requests for Information/Proposal (RFIs/RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Sections L and M, Award Fee/Incentive Fee plans, and Source Selection Plans Guides and supports program acquisitions through agency governance and oversight processes Serves within a team of SMEs to evaluate Developer responses to RFPs and ECPs and complete assessment documentation, as required Monitors, evaluates, and reports Developer's performance in executing software development contract on schedule and within cost Reviews Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) documentation for compliance, execution progress, and Developer's satisfaction of requirements providing Courses of Action (COAs) to the Government customer based on findings and assessments Represent the SPO in stakeholder acquisition discussions related to current and future contracts Qualifications & Physical Requirements Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years' experience OR master's degree and seven (7) years of experience (additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree) Experience in DoD or IC acquisition, procurement, and/or contracting processes and policies Experience in system acquisitions over $50M Familiarity managing technical, cost and schedule performance of software development programs Desired: SAFe (or similar) certification Experience or familiarity with NRO acquisitions Experience in Space Domain Awareness or Space Protection Experience in Major System Acquisitions (MSAs) acquisitions over $500M Experience working in Agile, SAFe, and/or Scrum software development frameworks Proficiency with Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
