Job Title: Astrodynamics Systems Engineer
Location: Colorado Springs, CO (Onsite)
Duration: Direct hire/ Full Time Job Description:
As an Astrodynamics Systems Engineer, you will contribute to a Systems Engineering team in mission planning and scheduling upon program award, with a preference for those who have worked within the Space Command and Control (C2) domain. This position supports the Space & Airborne Systems (SAS) division, a great team of talented professionals with world class technical expertise who take a collaborative approach to engineering and enjoy working together. In this position, you will bring your systems engineering background to a role where you can make a broad impact to programs and projects that are critical to our customers!
Essential Functions:
• Participate in the development and integration of mission planning and scheduling systems for space operations.
• Conduct software testing to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address system requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Contribute to the creation of technical documentation and user manuals.
• Modeling and Simulation
• Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in the Space C2 domain.
• Management of requirements.
• Ability to lead a technical scrum team.
• Travel as needed (a minimum of 10% travel expected).
• Works under general supervision.
Qualifications:
• Clearance: TS/SCI Security Clearance
• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
• Bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering or a related field
• Experience with mission planning and scheduling systems
• Experience in software development, testing and validation
• Experience with astrodynamics concepts and applications
• Experience in testing and troubleshooting systems
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience in the Space C2 domain
• Experience with Scala, Matlab
• SDA domain experience
• Experience with MBSE techniques to support system design and development
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment through an entire build cycle
• Self-motivated learner/self-starter
