Duties Serve as a first-line supervisor responsible for planning, directing, and reviewing the activities of personnel engaged in the protection and enforcement of a federal government installation. Perform administrative and personnel management responsibilities related to the accomplishment of the mission assigned. Observe or respond to reports of crime ranging from violations of simple rules, felonies, and capital crimes. Resolve informal complaints and grievances, maintains management-employee communications, and assists in improvement of performance. Identify incidents personally or through reports and eyewitness accounts. Ensure adherence to the provisions of special emphasis programs such as Equal Employment Opportunity, Federal Women's Program, to achieve equitable treatment of employees. Maintain attendance and work-related statistics, prepares police reports, and reviews for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. In accordance with AR 190-56, Chapter 2, submit to and pass a physical agility test and yearly thereafter. Will be required to work call back and/or emergency overtime. Also will be required to work rotating shifts to include weekends and holidays, as needed. Temporary duty travel may be required 10% or less of the time Maintain a valid state driver's license. The position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position. Incumbent is subject to removal from the position if convicted of a felony(ies) in accordance with Section 639 of P.L. 106-554 effective January 20, 2001. All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
