Program Manager & Senior VI Designer Location: Stafford-Spotsylvania-King George Counties, VA Clearance Required: DOD Secret Years of Experience: 10+, with 5 years in communication programs Degree: Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field OR 20 years experience in communications management FT/PT: Full Time We need motivated candidates with extensive communications, public affairs, and program management experience to support an upcoming defense public affairs contract. This position will support command communications activities, including: Developing visual information and graphic art products for a variety of mediums to include: various print, exhibit, web-page design, digital audio/video, and on-line media. Design and develop visual information and graphic art products, with knowledge and capability of running graphic production equipment. Command event design support, including exhibit planning and designing.
Photography support as required.
Lead and direct challenging projects and execute assignments within the scope of the contract. Provide administrative oversight, corporate management and ability to provide overall technical, schedule, and cost direction.
Knowledge of communication functions associated with the contract and workload management. Manage staff at all levels from junior to senior level, ensure tasks are completed on time and at the highest level of quality. Manage relationships with company subcontractors.
Support biweekly, monthly, and annual contract reporting. The ideal candidate will have the following skills: Demonstrated creative graphic design and layout skills, creative services skills, be customer focused, show flexibility and attention to detail, be deadline-oriented, use desktop publishing tools and demonstrated ability to manage challenging customer service issues.
Excellent writing, researching, planning, and verbal communications skills. Excellent customer relations skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior-level military and government officials and assist them in the process of communicating command messages. Understanding of strategic communications, preferably in the military space. Ability to organize and manage workflows and schedules, prioritizing work based on deadlines, schedules, and management guidance. Experience supporting senior-level military and government leaders. Understanding of communication research and its use to inform communications planning. Understanding of the Associated Press style guide.
