Job description

Responsibilities Sabre Systems is actively looking for a Systems Engineer to support the Battle Management System (BMS) family of projects. This position is expected to apply robust systems engineering processes, working closely with the customer and end-users to develop requirements and to participate in building the systems associated with a tactical fire control system. The position will interface with other engineering functional areas (i.e. Software Engineering, Test, Configuration Management, Training, and Safety) and technical personnel from various external organizations to clarify program intent, identify problems, suggest changes, and develop and document final solutions. The position will also be responsible for participating at Design Reviews, the Systems Engineering Working Group and weekly Integrated Products Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups (WGs), and supporting Product Review Panels (PRPs) and Product Certification Panels (PCPs). Duties &Skillset include, but are not limited to the following: Develop requirements for weapon systems integrated with air, land and sea platforms Execute systems engineering best practices for requirements definition & decomposition, design and implementation of customer & end-user requirements. Assess operational performance criteria and provide input for improving performance. Develop and communicate system plans, progress and performance results both orally and in writing. Develop Model Based Systems Engineering models for assigned project and contribute to the BMS MBSE Community of Practice Develop solutions for SW centric projects including concepts and requirements for Graphical User Interfaces Knowledge of Weapon Systems & Command & Control Systems is desired. Knowledge of rapid acquisition processes is helpful, but not required. Ability to work in a fast paced, rapidly changing range/field environment. Ability to work independently and interface professionally with other government agencies, contractors, military personnel. Ability to define task details, estimates, and schedules. Ability to work with others to meet established goals and program schedules. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and applications (including Cameo Systems Modeler) is desired. Qualifications A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline or equivalent experience such as direct hands-on experience with a weapon system application; or a military training background. Specialized Experience shall also include two (2) years of which must have been continuous support of at least one major weapons system development program, supporting any of the following areas: requirements definition, system design parameters, concepts operation, risk assessment, performance analyses, or test and evaluation; as well as two (2) years of experience which must demonstrate experience with systems engineering and work management tools such as Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS), Atlassian Jira, and/or SolidWorks Enterprise Product Data Management (PDM). Minimum of three (3) total years of full-time professional experience in Systems Engineering is required. Experience must include a minimum of one (1) year of Software-centric Systems Engineering.
