Position Summary

Sovah Health is looking for the ideal candidate who will assist with the planning, coordination and administration of general accounting activities of the organization. Provides professional support to all areas of the Accounting department as needed including the preparation of financial statements.

Prepare and enter journal entries and maintain period-end financial reports

Maintain daily and monthly statistics.

Prepare survey responses and data research reports for outside agencies as assigned.

Prepare appropriate entries to fund management system daily.

Assist in the maintenance and reconciliation of the fixed asset subsidiary system.

Assist in periodic physical inventories of fixed assets, supplies inventories or other assets as assigned.

Preparation and reconciliation of CIP and Fixed Assets G/L Summaries.

Responsible for the maintenance, storage, record keeping for all the general ledger accounting departmental standard system reports.

Reconcile all balance sheet accounts to the general ledger each month. Maintain supporting schedules.

All other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting (Accounting preferred).

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns including week-ends and holidays to insure continuity of care and appropriateness of coverage for the patients of Sovah Health Danville.

Minimum Work Experience

In lieu of Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, three years Accounting experience required. One year of experience in financial statement preparation, strong technical and computer experience. Previous health care experience preferred.
