THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON AWARD OF CONTRACT TITLE: Emergency Dispatcher Level II LOCATION: National Law Enforcement Communications Centers (NLECC) - Dulles, VA and Fort Worth, TX SECURITY CLEARANCE: MBI SCHEDULE : Due to the nature of law enforcement work and this operation, shift work will be required. About the role: Provide event logging and recording of centrally managed law enforcement radio monitoring, monitoring of intrusion detection systems, non-emergency and emergency dispatch, incident reporting, and utilization of investigative databases. Provide training to Entry-Level and Level I Dispatchers. Prerequisites: Meet the requirements of Dispatcher Level I.
Must be Dispatcher Level I or equivalent for a minimum of six (6) months.
Must have received above average performance ratings as measured by the supplier's performance rating system (if being promoted).
Must be able to work in a high-pressure situations.
Must be able to communicate orally and in writing sufficient to obtain and disseminate, clear, concise information What you will do: Log and record events related to law enforcement radio monitoring.
Monitor intrusion detection systems.
Perform non-emergency and emergency dispatch.
Conduct incident reporting.
Utilize investigative databases.
Assist Site Lead in training Entry-Level and Level I Dispatchers.
Accept temporary Lead Dispatch duties as needed.
Provide guidance on Watch Desk protocols to US Postal Inspection Service personnel in a professional manner.
Maintain working knowledge of Watch Desk applications, databases, and protocols.
Primary point of contact for all USPIS and OIG personnel for entering and clearing Warrants Articles, Securities, Vehicles, and any other pertinent data into the NCIC and NLETS databases.
Enter, update, and retrieve information from a variety of computer systems including NLETS and NCIC.
Read and interpret reports and communicate results with internal external Law Enforcement personnel.
Complete, review, and maintain Microsoft Office reports and spreadsheets. Minimum Qualifications & Skills : Possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma.
Be a citizen of the United States of America.
Be 18 years of age or older.
Be able to attain and maintain a USPIS Moderate Background Investigation (MBI) Clearance.
Be able to sit for an extended period of time while monitoring multiple computer monitors.
Be able to maintain professionalism under highly stressful situations.
Be able to read and comprehend the English language; including, printed regulations, written instructions, training material, etc. Be able to write reports, and document events in a concise and accurate manner. This includes the ability to proofread all documentation for grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Be able to speak the English language clearly and fluently.
Be able to provide quality customer service while communicating with internal and external parties.
Be able to hear ordinary telephone and radio conversations with either ear.
Must possess strong computer and data entry skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Be able to type a minimum of 45 words per minute (WPM).
Be able to manage and prioritize tasks from multiple simultaneous sources (radio, telephone, alarm monitoring software, etc.). Additional Position Requirements: Obtain NCIC Full Access within ninety (90) days of assignment.
Must cross-train on Lead Dispatcher responsibilities within six (6) months of assignment. Clearance: Applicants selected may be subject to a government background investigation and may be required to meet the following conditions of employment. Security Requirements/Background Investigation Requirements : Must be a U.S Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.
Favorable credit check for all cleared positions Successfully passing a background investigation including drug screening. Physical Requirements/Working Conditions : Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must have mobility to attend meetings with other managers and employees. Standing for prolonged and extended periods of time.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling : 0% - 10% of the time.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: 0% - 10% of the time.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type and use a telephone system 100% of the time.
Sitting: Sitting for prolonged and extended periods of time.
