What you'll get to do in this role:
- Release Management
- Provides Release planning and scheduling support to the program to ensure all facets of the release including software, hardware, implementation, integration, and deployment to test and operations are well defined and orchestrated
- Represent the program at the governance boards meetings for approval of software releases as required
- Work with system engineering and software development to synchronize efforts and ensure the capture of a common set of program capabilities, features, stories, change requests and discrepancies are defined into the appropriate JIRA and Confluence records
- Software Configuration Management
- Maintain all aspects of configuration management activities relative to planning, configuration identification, change control, status accounting, and verification/auditing for the program in accordance with internal guidelines and contract requirements
- Developing and maintaining configuration management tools (i.e. Atlassian Suite) and supporting configuration
- identification, control, reporting, release and delivery of products and systems
- Train others on the use configuration management tools as required (Atlassian Suite)
- Develop and maintain internal software configuration management processes, procedures and documentation in support of customer requirements
- Collaborate with development in CM tool utilization, version control system trunk, branch, and tagging strategies with an ultimate goal for efficient change tracking, version control, merges, and tagging of releases
- Maintain and update processes and procedures to support the software build and release process
- Serve as a stakeholder of engineering review boards (ERBs) and configuration control boards (CCBs) to establish initial engineering and formal test baselines, and then evaluate and maintain changes driven by change requests
- Coordinates, records and documents activities of the Configuration Control Board (CCB)
- Implement, manage, and maintain the customer configuration management database
- Maintain configuration records for all environments, hardware, and software
- Collaborate with engineering and software development in the software build process, the development and execution (manual or automated) of, and the media creation per Release
- Collaborate with engineering and software development in problem solving configuration management issues
- Ensure deliverable software media is created and maintained in a CM controlled repository and is documented as part of configuration status accounting records
- Generate hardware /software configuration documentation, Software Version Description Document (VDD) documentation as necessary to support software delivery
- Document and communicate key CM Activities (e.g., audits, baseline software media, VDD, etc.), CCB minutes as part of the configuration status accounting records
- Ability to plan, conduct and close-out formal audits such as Functional Configuration Audits/Physical Configuration Audits (FCA/PCA) events
- License Management Responsibilities
- Support program management by maintaining the licensed software list, monitor and track software, license keys, and expiration dates
Principal Engineer
- 5+ Years of experience with Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related discipline (or 3 Years with Master's or PhD). Experience can be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience working in a configuration management product life cycle system (i.e., Agile PLM, Teamcenter, CMPro, etc.)
- Experience with Atlassian SW Suite
- US citizenship with active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI/program SAP at time of application
- 9+ Years of experience with Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or closely related discipline (or 3 Years with Master's or PhD). Experience can be considered in lieu of degree
- Experience working in a configuration management product life cycle system (i.e., Agile PLM, Teamcenter, CMPro, etc.)
- Experience with Atlassian SW Suite
- US citizenship with active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI/program SAP at time of application
- Ability to adjust to changing priorities and requirements.
- Ability to analyze/audit software products and documentation handoff from the developers.
- Familiar with Git/Gitlab commands and continuous integration/development (CI/CD) methodology.

Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
Salary Range 2: $120,900 - $181,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
