Advanced System Administrator Specialist Fairfax, VA Contract Position $46.70-$51.70 / Hourly Advanced System Administrator Specialist job in Fairfax, Virginia is available with Moseley Technical Services Top Defense company. In this job you will contribute to state-of-the-art technologies for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance systems supporting the Army, Navy, Air Force, Special Forces, and other Federal Government agencies. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary user interface, troubleshooting technical issues, managing permissions, and installing new software.
Administer day-to-day operations of physical and virtual servers, including configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware and network interfaces.
Monitor server performance and apply OS and vendor software patches using industry-standard tools.
Oversee and manage storage infrastructure across multiple environments, ensuring the integration of hardware and software for reliability and safety.
Lead architecture and design improvements for Linux storage infrastructure, including system upgrades, migrations, and optimizations.
Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and document security procedures for new and fielded systems. Qualifications: U.S. Citizen with Active Secret Clearance required Bachelor's degree, Computer Science or STEM, Master's degree preferred; Equivalent experience considered.
Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience (3 years with a Master's degree).
Expertise in Linux server-based operating systems, including troubleshooting across server OS, networking, and storage environments.
