Dewberry has a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced GIS/remote sensing professional looking to step up into an advanced production leadership role. We are currently seeking a Hydrography Production Manager to oversee the production and maintenance of elevation derived National Hydrography Datasets (NHD) and related products. You will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of multiple, diverse NHD projects for local, state, and federal clients. You will work closely with a team of project managers to ensure we adhere to client delivery schedules, quality expectations, and budgetary constraints. You will also be responsible for staffing, training, and for process improvements including advances in automation.
You will work closely with a team focused on the continued development and process improvements surrounding the creation of hydrographic data from various elevation sources including IfSAR and 3DEP LiDAR. Responsibilities:
Hiring, training, and supervising NHD/EDH production team
Working with IfSAR, LiDAR, and NHD/WBD data, producing flow and elevation models;
Elevation, Conflation, 3D Feature, and other specific data processing and manipulation activities;
Creating a variety of digital mapping/remotely sensed products using various software platforms;
Capturing, producing, geo-processing, and analyzing data;
Creating and manipulating databases;
Creating Scripts/Models/Macros in multiple software platforms;
Helping develop training processes;
Designing and implementing solid quality control procedures;
Performing problem resolution, task management, collaborating, report and metadata writing
Required Skills & Required Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Engineering, Hydrology, or related field.
5 +years of experience in the GIS/Remote Sensing Field.
Working knowledge of ArcHydro and GIS data conflation.
Working knowledge of LiDAR classification and DEM creation.
In-depth knowledge of ESRI's software suite including ArcGIS 10x, ArcPro.
Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to coordinate and motivate production staff to deliver quality products on time and within budget
Mentoring, training junior GIS analysts a plus.
Esri Data Reviewer experience a plus.
Quality Assurance, documentation and providing feedback.
Experience working with QGIS, GRASS, and SAGA geospatial software is a plus
Beneficial Skills
Experience producing and working with NHD, NHDPlus and Hydrology data.
Expertise in Hydrography, H&H modeling, flood mapping or related areas
Proximity to one of Dewberry's geospatial centers of expertise is a plus
