Contributions As a Principal Cloud Engineer, you will work within our growing DevSecOps practice delivering features to support cloud migration, cloud optimization and cloud deployment. We are looking for candidates with 10+ years experience with cloud platform services and DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code and confirmation management automation. Principal Cloud Engineers have a responsibility to supporting large-scale projects, mentoring teams of engineers, being senior thought leaders, and supporting corporate sales, strategy and delivery initiatives. Responsibilities include: I dentify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the customer Design cloud environments and demonstrate technical cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the design of production, staging, QA, and development of cloud infrastructures running in 24 7 environments Implement and oversee cloud strategies include migrations and optimization Establishing development tools and infrastructure for automation Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers Automate and improve development, testing, deployment, and release processes Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results Perform root cause analysis on complex business processes and technical components. Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats Identifying technical problems, performing root cause analysis, and developing software updates and 'fixes' Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended Support enterprise Cloud applications or infrastructure through infrastructure as code including any activities around automated server or network configurations, large-scale software deployments, and monitoring and testing, such as CI/CD Document as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations Leverage virtualization and containerization to optimize and modernize software systems Serves senior thought leader in the organization, that contributes to company thought leadership, best practices, and technical strategy Assists in sales and technical strategy activities beyond their current program Act as an individual contributor and mentor more junior team members Engineer and implement solutions and provide recommendations for continuous improvement for the services provided Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other team members Qualifications Required: Ability to obtain a U.S. government Security Clearance BS Degree in an IT field OR BS in a non-IT field and 2 years related IT experience 10 Years of Experience architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud solutions 10 Years of Experience with one or more clouds ( i.e. AWS, Azure, or GCP) 10 Years of Experience with Git SCM providers such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket 10 Years of Experience with systems development in an Agile environment 10 Years of Experience implementing infrastructure as code and orchestration 10 Years of Experience integrating deployments with industry standard DevSecOps tooling and orchestration 5 Years of Experience in several of the following areas: database architecture, ETL, business intelligence, big data, machine learning, advanced analytics Preferred: Masters Degree in an IT-related field Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer AWS Certified Solution Architect Professional Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert Microsoft Certified Solution Architect Expert SAFe DevOps Certification Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills Experience with documenting an as-is state of the environment, perform a gap analysis, and produce artifacts that articulate options and recommendations preferred Experience with scripting in Concourse, Bash, PowerShell, Python, Groovy, or Ruby Experience implementing docker containers and utilizing platforms such as Kubernetes Experience with automation tools, including Pivotal, Chef, Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible About steampunk Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $175,000 to $210,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
