Belvoir, VA Responsibilities: The Configuration Manager is responsible for: Writing the CM Plan and reporting progress statistics based on change requests. Reviewing, maintaining, and executing configuration management plans, policies, and standard operating procedures. Tracking the customers property. Identifying configuration items, implements change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. Working with teams to create and maintain hardware and software configuration, and documentation configuration baselines (test, production, etc.). Monitoring and auditing configuration changes to hardware and software to confirm that configuration management records and configuration items are complete, consistent, accurate, and ensure compliance with approved configuration baseline. Preparing, supporting, and facilitating the Change Control Boards (CCB). Recommending improvements to the CCB Process in order to promote improved business functionality and overall efficiency. Ensuring that all changes to the baselines go through appropriate change boards. Tracking all problems and changes in product documents/software and reports changes, controls standard operating procedures and current configurations. Job Requirements The Configuration Manager should possess the following skills: Uses or recommends automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures. Experience with Remedy and SharePoint. Experience with DoD (Department of Defense) customer. Understands and applies more advanced concepts and processes to daily activities. Works individually and actively participates in integrated teams. Requires minimal guidance and direction from more senior level technicians, specialists, and managers. Provides guidance to lower level technicians and specialists. Desire and ability to take ownership in the position and thrive in an environment where you are given the autonomy to define your role to satisfy the requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree 3+ years' experience working in Configurations Management. Develops or modifies CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental or operational system. Implement CM discipline for the entire life cycle of systems from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life. Regulates the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software, licenses, media, and other IT assets.
