Job description

Venatore, a recognized leader in records management and digitization services for the Department of Defense, is seeking a Scanning and Digitization Technician to support Army INSCOM at Fort Belvoir. The successful candidate will possess a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility at the time of application and will be responsible for operating various digital scanning equipment and photocopier machines to transition paper documents to electronic files. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate digitization of materials critical to Army INSCOM's operations. Key Responsibilities: Document Preparation: o Prepare hard copy documents for scanning, ensuring they are in the correct order and condition for optimal scanning results. o Separate documents and disassemble them from binders, file folders, etc. o Use a photocopier or flatbed scanner to copy documents that are too large, fragile, or faded for direct input into a scanning device. Input copied documents into scanners. Digital Scanning Operations: o Operate digital scanning equipment to convert hard copy documents into digital formats. o Assign file names and metadata to digitized documents in accordance with NARA Bulletin 2015-04 guidelines. Logistics and Inventory Management: o Record, deliver, and collect stored documents and completed work, ensuring accurate filing/storage and accountability. o Maintain an inventory of supplies and reproduction equipment, ensuring readiness and availability. Maintenance and Repairs: o Perform preventive maintenance on duplicating and scanning machines. o Monitor and respond to equipment functional notifications. Required Qualifications: Security Clearance: Must possess current U.S. Government Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility to start. Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: 1-2 years of desktop computer experience. Desired Qualifications: o Experience with operating digital scanning equipment and preparing documents for scanning. o Strong organizational skills to manage scanning requirements. o High attention to detail in preparing documents for scanning, quality control, and tracking inventory. o Familiarity or ability to learn how to assign metadata to digitized documents in compliance with the INSCOM File Plan and NARA Bulletin 2015-04 guidelines. Physical Requirements: o Ability to perform tasks requiring prolonged standing, repetitive motion, and handling of heavy materials up to 35 lbs. Training Requirements: o Successful applicants must complete the following on-site web-based training: 1. Information Assurance Related Training (Cyber Awareness) 2. Intelligence Oversight and Civil Liberties 3. Operations Security (OPSEC) 4. Threat Awareness & Reporting Program (TARP) 5. Derivative Classification 6. Anti-Terrorism (AT) Training (Contractor) 7. Foreign Disclosure, Rules of the Road 8. Information Security (Annual Security Refresher Training - INSCOM) 9. DoD Mandatory Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Training 10.
