Job description

Duties Supervise and review the efforts and work of subordinate branch chiefs and action officers based on priorities, consideration of technical difficulty, mission requirements, and Division capabilities and qualifications. Provides strategic leadership and oversight to the subject matter experts in the formulation of policies and criteria that govern Passport and Visa support to the total force. Conduct extensive coordination with a wide range of organizations across the Department of Defense (DoD) to ensure Passport and Visa programs support the needs of the DoD Community. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Conducting extensive coordination with a wide range of organizations across the Department of Defense (DoD) to ensure Passport and Visa programs support the needs of the DoD Community. Preparing directives to the force and providing advice and assistance to subordinates, component, and DoD commands with respect to Passport and Visa procedures. Ensuring staff work efficiently and effectively in resolving Passport and Visa matters with the Department of State (DoS) and other governmental entities within and without the DoD. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Supervisory probationary period Direct deposit of pay is required.
