Job description

Duties Assists higher-grade specialists by completing recurring assignments or portions of larger projects. Performs Directorate Information Security Manager duties IAW Installation Security Policy and Procedures Guide. Interprets and adapts Army regulations and Installation Security Policy and Procedure Guides to provide advice and resolve problems. Serves as the installation point of contact for receipt of foreign disclosure requests. Prepares reports of inspection that include corrective action requirements and security enhancement recommendations. Compiles data, determines accuracy, and prepares reports regarding Electronic Personnel Security Questionnaire (EPSQ) submission. Coordinates with organizations to obtain compliance certifications for Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) based on a Tier 5 investigation. In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. Temporary duty (TDY) travel will be less than 25% of the work schedule. This position has been identified as being a Key Position. For more information, see note below in Additional Information. Must become a certified anti-terrorism instructor by completing the Force Protection Unit Advisor Course. Two year trial/probationary period may be required. In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience performing two or more of the following: Reviewing security clearance applications for accuracy and completion of information. Experience providing administrative/clerical assistance support. Experience assisting with security related functions, such as screening incoming visitor requests and/or issuing security/access badges. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-08). OR Education: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which is directly related to the position being filled and demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position; such as, Security Program Administration; Homeland Security; Industrial Security Administration, etc. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (18 semester hours) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (NOTE: Transcripts must be submitted with application).
