Job description

Position Title: Senior Business Development Director - Government Contracting

Location: Fredericksburg, VA - Partially Remote

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Position Summary:
We are in search of a highly detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to manage our accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processes. The successful candidate should have substantial experience in government contracting and be skilled in using Deltek Costpoint. This position is critical for maintaining accurate and efficient financial operations while ensuring adherence to government regulations. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting our financial systems and upholding the standards of compliance required in a regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR): • Process and manage customer invoices, ensuring timely and accurate billing. • Monitor and follow up on outstanding receivables, including handling collections and resolving discrepancies. • Reconcile AR accounts and prepare reports on aged receivables and collections status. • Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate billing of contract deliverables.
Accounts Payable (AP): • Process vendor invoices, ensuring accurate coding and adherence to contract terms. • Perform timely and accurate payment runs, including check, ACH, and wire transfers. • Reconcile AP accounts, address vendor inquiries, and resolve discrepancies. • Maintain accurate and organized AP records and documentation.
Payroll: • Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in pay calculations and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. • Manage payroll deductions, benefits, and garnishments, and ensure accurate reporting and compliance. • Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees. • Prepare and submit payroll-related reports to government agencies and internal stakeholders.
General Duties: • Utilize Deltek Costpoint to perform AR, AP, and other accounting functions, ensuring data integrity and compliance with contract requirements. • Collaborate with the Finance team to support month-end and year-end close processes. • Assist with audits and prepare documentation as needed.

Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, focusing on AR, AP, and payroll functions. • Proven experience with Deltek Costpoint is required.

Skills: • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and data entry. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
