Job description
Overview We are currently seeking an Aegis Simulation Test and Verification Specialist to s upport Test Planning & Execution (TP&E) and Validation & Verification (V&V) of various Aegis Simulation systems such as Common Connectivty Device (CCD), Next Generation Simulation (NGS), and Combat System Simulator/Stimulator (CS3). Responsibilities Essential Functions/Job Duties: Simulation System Developmental and Integration Testing Conduct software developmental testing to demonstrate the correctness and completeness of the software design for Aegis Simulation (SIM) systems such as Common Connectivity Device (CCD), Next Generation Simulation (NGS), Universal Message Generator, and Combat System Simulator/Stimulator (CS3)
Develop integration test plans and procedures for testing SIM systems
Conduct integration testing and analysis of new SIM system capabilities and components to ensure all elements work in the target system and verify that the software meets the system requirements at Government approved sites
Submit detailed test results to the customer in the form of a post-event report
Develop SIM scenarios to test functionality and ensure repeatability for Government identified use casesSimulation System Verification & Validation (V&V and Operational Testing Develop test plans and procedures for testing SIM systems such as CCD, NGS, UMG, and CS3
Perform V&V and operational testing of SIM systems with a team independent of the system designers and developers
Collect and manage SIM systems test data and perform data analysis to be documented in Test Reports.
Deliver the V&V test plan, test procedures, test artifacts and test reports as defined above to the Government to support Accreditation activities
Perform computer program maintenance for SIM systems
Analyze computer program defects called Test Observation Reports (TORs) and provide status to Configuration Review Board (CRB). Equipment Used: Standard computer equipment Navy Combat Systems / Simulation Systems Communications and Networking equipment Typical Working Conditions: General office environment Computer/Equipment lab US Naval Ship (Non-Hostile) Essential Physical Tasks: Ability to lift 10 lbs. on an occasional basis
Ability to use a personal computer, keyboard and mouse on a consistent basis
Occasional domestic travel by automobile or airplane 10% to 25% of the time Written Communications: Operates standard computer based business tools (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) effectively
Demonstrates excellent (Clear and concise) written communication skills and the ability to develop test plans, procedures and technical reports
Independently generates test reports, test observation reports (TORs), and associated test analysis results
Provides required weekly and monthly written status reports to Project Lead and/or Department Head. Verbal Communications: Active communicator, able to present technical briefs, giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate
Ability to lead discussions pertaining to technical subject matter Qualifications Skills / Qualifications: Four (4) years general combat systems experience in more than one of the following: combat systems design/engineering, combat system computer program development, combat system certification, combat system simulation engineering or combat system computer program development. Customer Interface Activities: Provide M Department with requirements analysis; system design, development and/or enhancement of hardware and software; system integration, developmental testing, Verification and Validation (V&V) testing; software maintenance and documentation for combat system interface simulation systems, test systems, simulation supported training systems and analysis systems. This includes systems developed under this Contract and the following:
Combat System Simulator/Stimulator (CS3)
Next Generation Simulation (NGS)
Common Connectivity Device (CCD)
Universal Message Generator (UMG)
Data Link Simulation Solutions (Uncertain of Replacement)
Clock Distribution System (CDS) Project Management Tasks: Ability to manage and prioritize tasks to ensure optimum productivity. Work Schedule: STD/40 The ability to work non-standard work hours and work shift schedules in support of project requirements. Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED. Bachelor of Science Degree in a relevant technical discipline desired U.S. Citizenship is required Security Clearance: Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance, and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
