Requires US Citizenship Employment Term and Type: Regular, Full Time Required Security Clearance: Secret Required Education: Bachelor's Degree Job Title: Base Communications Staff Support Specialist Job Description: Provide communications and information systems program management, advice and expertise for Air Combat Command communications initiatives and projects. Normal daytime hours. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Provide communications and information systems program management, advice, recommended prioritization, and expertise for Military Construction (MILCON) and Facility, Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization (FSRM) for ACC/A6 (including Direct Report units to ACC/A6) and AFIMSC (Det 8) as required and attend associated meetings. Provide ACC/A6 staff (including Direct Report units to ACC/A6) relevant input and provide a recommended prioritization for communications initiatives and projects. Be able to articulate the needs of the ACC communications squadrons and provide advocacy and recommendations on those projects, clearly and concisely to the ACC/A6 staff (including Direct Report units to ACC/A6). "Attend various meetings via TDY or virtually. Coordinate Quarterly ACC/Base level Engineering and Installation (E&I) teleconferences as required. "Provide functional validation and prioritization of communications projects (as required, including relevant construction projects) for communications squadron facilities for HQ ACC/A6 (including Direct Report units to ACC/A6). Evaluate, document, and brief A6 staff and direct report units on base communications and information technology plans, initiatives, and projects to determine communications and information systems impacts and shortfalls. As required, evaluate unfunded submissions for 3400 (Operations & Maintenance (O&M and 3080 (Procurement) Comm-Electronics/Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Unfunded Communications Requirements and apply the ACC and Air Force Level communications risk management matrices to prioritize all unfunded requirements. As required, provide HQ ACC Communications O&M Infrastructure E&I Work Plan requirements extracted from CIPS for HQ ACC/A6 or direct report units. As required, consolidate ACC E&I Infrastructure requirements and initiatives for ACC Work Plan utilizing the AF E&I Framework mission impact matrix and prioritize future year O&M infrastructure requirements for funding approval. Evaluate alternative communications infrastructure requirements and services to ensure operational requirements implementation by the most cost-effective means. Provide base communications projects, initiatives, and E&I project status updates to ACC/A6 staff and direct report units on all ACC current and future year projects and plans. As required, assist with bed-down requirements when the customer requires E&I resources, in coordination with ACC/A6XX Basing representatives. As required, validate communications E&I infrastructure requirements submitted by ACC Cyberspace System Integrator (CSI) for 3400/3080 funds through Subject Matter Experts and the AF E&I Framework. Coordinate with ACC staff and other Air Force (AF) agencies to include Air National Guard (ANG) Total Force Group (TFG) and E&I Squadrons (EIS) if necessary to identify proper candidates for ANG/TFG workload and on provisioning of organic E&I services for bed down of new missions. Work closely with Base Communications Squadrons, CSIs, ACC A6 staff to ensure implementation of the Communications O&M Infrastructure Work Plan and other communications and technology projects/initiatives if necessary. Required Qualifications Five years of information technology and communications systems experience One year experience working with/on higher headquarters staff Demonstrably able to address/converse in manner appropriate for General Officers and Senior Civilians (qualification evaluated during interview) One year experience demonstrating project management skills (must have been within last five years) Desired Qualifications HQ ACC staff experience ACC communications squadron experience Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Information Technology-related discipline Experience in lieu of degree: five years of information technology-related experience (must be within the last five years) Security Clearance Requirements: Secret Physical Requirements: Sitting (70%), Standing (20%), Walking (10%), Grasping (60%), Reaching (10%), Near Acuity (50%), Speaking (100%), Listening (100%), Sight (100%), Use of Hands/Fingers (75%), Color Determination (100%) Travel requirement: 5% of allotted hours or less.
