Job description
Overview Configuration Manager Location: National Capital Region (NCR) Clearance: Active Secret Support the Department of State's Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA) Office of Consular Systems and Technology (CST) divisions management, administration, and quality assurance of its critical information technology supporting Consular locations, overseas posts, domestic Passport agencies and VISA processing centers. Responsibilities Ensure the configuration of systems are documented and updated maintaining local inventories of all hardware and software baselines as well as ensuring the respective program office has the current hardware and software baseline for all systems. Ensure hardware and software baselines of the information systems are documented in accordance with the appropriate Configuration Management plan. Develop a local Configuration Management Plan to supplement the program Configuration Management plans as well as any Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) deemed necessary for implementation of this local Configuration Management Plan. Facilitate and document monthly configuration management status meetings and reported on the monthly report to the COR. Conduct periodic reviews, at a minimum once per quarter, unless there have been significant baseline changes to ensure compliance with the CMP. Ensure all security-relevant information system software, hardware, and firmware is documented in accordance with (IAW) pertinent Configuration Management Plans on a monthly basis. Ensure all information system security-related documentation is current and accessible to authorized individuals on a monthly basis. Notify the site ISSM/ISSO when a system no longer processes intelligence information. Promptly notify the site ISSM/ISSO when changes occur that might affect certifications and accreditations of systems. Ensure the site Configuration Management plan correlates to the process steps in the system development life cycle. Coordinate with the ISSO/ISSM to ensure changes are incorporated into the System Security Plan (SSP) when new software, hardware, and firmware is received before implementation on the information system. Ensure 100% inventory of all hardware and software is conducted and documented annually. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or other technically relevant degree 5 years experience working in software system development and sustainment as a software developer, analyst, systems engineer, CM Specialist or CM systems administrator Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with success working in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & Power Point) Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills are required.
