Job Title: STEM Talent Management Support

Job Summary:
The STEM Talent Management Support role is a specialized position focused on the recruitment, development, and retention of STEM talent within military and government civilian roles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT/comms, computer science/engineering, and/or communications/IT program management. The role involves managing a portfolio of talent initiatives that support accessions, continuing education/upskilling, and retention of STEM professionals within the organization.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Accessions: Assist with the classification of STEM civilian billets and support hiring actions to ensure the organization attracts top STEM talent. Coordinate with the Human Resources office to address cyber workforce roles, hiring incentives, and targeted location market supplements for STEM personnel. Oversee the division's participation in the Scholarship for Service program (including the Cyber Services Academy & Palace Acquire), which includes preparing and submitting position packages. Maintain up-to-date status slides for civilian vacancies to ensure visibility and transparency in the hiring process. 2. Continuing Education/Upskilling: Plan and execute a 9-week summer internship program for STEM hires and USAFA cadets, providing them with hands-on experience and exposure to real-world challenges. Work closely with supervisors to manage the progression of individuals in developmental positions, ensuring effective tracking of training and upgrades from GG-07 to GG-12. 3. Retention: Track and promote professional development opportunities, training sessions, and conference participation for division personnel. Collaborate with the academic engagement point of contact (POC) to establish opportunities for division employees to work with academic partners on addressing ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) data challenges. 4. STEM Talent Management: Support the organization's STEM talent management portfolio by identifying and implementing strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent. Provide insights and recommendations based on the latest academic research and industry trends to ensure the organization remains competitive in the STEM talent landscape.
Desired Qualifications: • Education: Degree in IT/comms, computer science/engineering, or a related field. • Technical Skills: Strong background in IT/comms, computer science/engineering, and/or communications/IT program management. • Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. Proficiency in talent management software and tools. • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, supervisors, and academic partners.
Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with STEM talent acquisition and management in a military or government setting. • Familiarity with cyber workforce roles and STEM-focused recruitment strategies. • Experience in managing internship programs and professional development initiatives.
