Responsibilities Peraton is hiring for an Acoustic Systems Senior Technical Specialist. The position support US Navy signature systems and acoustic data collection systems and is located in Herndon, VA. Individual will be responsible for the following:
Development of at-sea operational procedures for Navy acoustic systems. Development of sea trial plans and agendas. Engineering, development, installation, and operation of fixed, portable, or shipboard acoustic systems. Analysis and certification of signal paths for submarine sonar systems, data acquisition, and data processing systems. Acoustic trial data analysis and documentation. Development of training courseware and operational system documentation.Qualifications Required qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree or higher degree in Engineering, Math, Physical Sciences, Computer Science or other STEM majors, OR eight years of U.S. Naval fleet service and operational experience with at-sea measurement trials
Eight years of collective technical experience with U.S. Navy shipboard operations, sonar systems, and signature measurement systems in research and development (R&D), data acquisition, reduction, analysis, calibrations, calibration processing, and technical reports
System integration experience
IAT Level II certification
Active Secret ClearanceDesired qualifications: Eight years of collective technical experience in U.S. Navy acoustic trials and acoustic signature measurement systems in at least six of the following functional areas:
Development and update of submarine at-sea operational data gathering procedures for TUBA program or other signature measurement systems and development of acoustical sea trial plans and agendas
Signature measurement system engineering, development, modification, installation, analysis or operation of shipboard, autonomous, portable or fixed data acquisition systems
Operational support of at-sea and shore-based processing systems
Signal path analysis of complex data acquisition and signature processing systems involving stationary, mobile, on-board, and at-sea systems
Preparation of Department of Defense (DoD) technical documentation
Ship signature and signature system trial planning, evaluation, data analysis, and documentation
Acoustic recording system development, upgrade, and certification processes
Acoustic recording system testing, evaluation, and validation methodologies
Submarine acoustic sensors and signal paths
System Information Assurance (IA) evaluation, implementation, and maintenance
System life cycle, logistics, and configuration management support
Interactive training courseware and operational system documentation development
Target Salary Range $112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
