Troubleshoot network issues and develop corrective action plans. Trouble-shooting complex systems consisting of hardware, software, and communications systems.
SolarWinds tool experience or experience working with other Network Monitoring Systems (NMS) tools.
Previous experience/knowledge using Linux operating systems. (System is fully Linux based)
Provide network administration support to proposal and pursuits, including estimation of effort, and completion of Basis of Estimates. Experience estimating engineering effort in support of network design, implementation, and operations.
Ability to obtain an ATSEP L3Harris Network Engineer certification within 6 months of hire date.
Minimum of 6 years' experience in large-scale national and international network design, implementation, and operations.
Nice to Haves:
Previous experience working with telco service providers
Previous experience with multicast routing
Previous experience with scripting languages
Previous experience with Network Automation tools
Previous experience with FAA systems/programs is a plus
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
Job Description:
Seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Senior Network Planning Engineer to support innovative network solutions. The selected candidate will be working on multiple programs and initiatives as the primary contractor. As a Network Engineer, supporting the management and implementation of network design and solutions. The selected candidate will collaborate with internal and external teams. Work independently on projects from start to finish, including developing network designs based upon user requirements, creating network diagrams using Visio, configuring network equipment, and full implementation follow-through and documentation of requirements. Required Tasks include:
Troubleshoot network issues and develop corrective action plans. Trouble-shooting complex systems consisting of hardware, software, and communications systems.
Installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, and firewalls.
Configure dynamic routing protocols.
Provide daily network and telecommunication engineering support (troubleshooting complex operational issues, performing root cause analysis, working with FAA staff, etc.)
Integrate hardware and software system components within a lab environment.
Provide networking support to multiple environments including development, test, and production.
Previous experience using Linux operating systems.

Work with network partners and technicians to troubleshoot system issues.
Ability to conduct root-cause analysis of issues related to the network and recommend corrective action.
Candidate should be able to work independently, able to prioritize customer issues and needs, and work across a wide variety of systems.
Candidate should possess strong initiative with an ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment.
Participate in an on-call rotation post Aireon Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP) certification. The candidate and another network engineer share on-call responsibilities, so this would typically be every other week.
Travel 10% as needed to perform maintenance or troubleshooting, including local site visits to Leesburg, Ashburn, and Tysons Corner.
Onsite work is required.
Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) Public Trust Clearance (similar to a DoD secret clearance).
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 6 years' experience in large-scale national and international network design, implementation, and operations.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Previous experience with FAA systems/programs is a plus.
Cisco Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP.
Previous experience working with telco service providers.
Previous experience with multicast routing.
Previous experience with scripting languages.
