Job Description:

Product Sr. Manager

Responsible for setting direction, goals and strategic objectives of a specific product or product line.

Manages the overall release process, working across departments to ensure market-ready products within time-to-market requirements. - Coordinates all major initiatives to advance product capabilities.

Manages the release planning process and is responsible for the definition of the product contract for each release.

Works closely with the development team to facilitate initial development design sessions of major product initiatives.

Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology and industry developments

HOW A PRODUCT SR. MANAGER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

Manages one or more medium to large teams consisting of multiple disciplines. Medium to high complexity.

Manages the day-to-day operations of tasks in assigned program area including technical work, staff supervision, financial and business development activities.

Defines and implements near term tactical and long term strategic roadmaps leveraged to ensure GDIT is not only responding to immediate customer requests but able to stay ahead of, if not 'predict', what concepts are just over the horizon.

Assists with planning activities, including roadmap development and systems integration, and provides recommendations to PMO's for each customer segment.

Coordinates all major initiatives to advance product capabilities spanning multiple customer segments and program managers.

Provides technical, administrative, and operational management of assigned business development and strategic planning tasks

Collaborates regularly with a variety of customers and contractors, which may include meeting coordination and preparation/support of project plans, reports, and status (e.g., PMR) briefings

Attends customer TEMs, exercises, conferences, tradeshows, and may serve as primary liaison

Interacts with vendors, other agencies, and other customer staff on customer's behalf of GDIT's MGS portfolio

Direct reports are typically exempt.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Position requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience - 5+ years of related experience

Ability to work with multiple departments to deliver products on time and within budget

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans business growth; strategic planning for product growth (vs. general business growth) is a plus.

Ability to work with customers and prospects to determine product and market requirements

Effective communication skills, including presentation skills

Effective administrative and organizational skills

Effective people management skills

Advanced knowledge of company policies, processes, and procedures

Awareness of company strategic goals and how they align to business operations

Familiarity with modern software design principles such as building with loosely coupled parts, user centered design and DevOps.

Experience implementing user stories according to design and best practice guidelines.

Knowledge of software design and implementation

Experience with the Agile Software Development Lifecycle.

Agile Certified Product Manager (ACPMA) or equivalent certification is a plus.

Full Motion Video, Motion Imagery, Overhead Imagery, and/or Synthetic Aperture Radar experience is desired.

Location - DC metro area preferred with the ability for (CONUS) travel up to 10%

The likely salary range for this position is $154,960 - $201,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
