Job description
GENERAL PURPOSE: Consulting Services Group (CSG) is a premier provider of support services, bringing a new and unique level of subject matter expertise to our clients, with a focus on intelligence, communication solutions, information technology, social media, and logistics. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to work in dynamic environment and provide leadership to Teammates. This is a hands-on position that requires a self-motivated and organized individual to communicate and manage medium and larger projects across multiple platforms and differing environments. Responsibilities: Work on assignments requiring considerable judgment and initiative. Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope following detailed instructions.
Configures software and resolves technical problems on servers.
Advises IT Director on hardware / software technology, integration and scheduling.
Architect and manage Microsoft Entra, Azure, Active Directory, domain configurations and server deployments.
Scripting and automation using tools such as Powershell, Ansible, Teraform, etc
Tracks and maintains lifecycle requirements, recommends replacements, upgrades, or retiring of hardware/software.
Provides technical support to program employees for complex system issues or problems as well as mentor and cultivate fellow staff members.
Designs and operates systems architectures with focus to security, specifically prevention, identification of and mitigation from vulnerabilities.
Performs scans, maintenance, and patching on a routine basis to ensure optimal system performance, security and compliance.
CSG Help Desk ticketing system responsibilities for change management (CM) and request for change (RFC) management. Required Qualifications: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Experience - Application of technical standards, principles and theories. Considered an emerging authority, who applies extensive technical expertise.
Documentation -Ability to draft requirements documents, correspondence, and procedures in accordance with policies.
Procedures and Processes - Ability to provide explanations of complex technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Writing - Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
Minimum 7-10 years of experience ; range depends on completed education and/or certifications.
Familiarity with Elastic, Nutanix, VMware, Jira as well as network routing and switching preferred. Education: High School Graduate. Prefer Bachelor's degree in related field (or equivalent). Clearance: Must have current/active DOD Secret security clearance. Top Secret preferred Other: Work Environment Work is typically performed in an office environment, requiring the use of computer terminals and standard office equipment to accomplish work objectives. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Travel: Minimal local travel in the DC metro area required. Some travel to data centers is required. Employee Status: Full-Time
