Job description

Project Controller
Summary: Our $50M client is seeking a Project Controller to join their team! For over 70 years, this company has specialized in project management and creative installation services for science and learning organizations throughout the US and abroad through the production of hundreds of high-profile projects. The Project Controller will have 3 direct reports and will bring their leadership and financial expertise to identify opportunities and support special projects and deliverables. This individual will also serve as a business partner to the CEO and be the liaise with the finance team in Paris, France. This opportunity will offer paid travel to Paris and New York a few times a year!

Location: Lorton, VA (100% ONSITE)
Compensation: $150,000 + 15% BONUS
Schedule: 8:30 a.m. -5:30 p.m. M-F

Responsibilities:
  • Lead accounting team and partner with the management team to improve financial performance
  • Manage, supervise, provide advice and guidance on general accounting matters
  • Manage, prepare, and maintain companies budget/cost projections and forecasts, and perform P&L review
  • Contribute a financial, business, and operational point of view based on an understanding of all company projects.
  • Month-end closing to include monthly closing entries, review and approval of journal entries, reconciliation of GL accounts
  • Manage budgets for custom, large scale, complex, multi-year projects.
  • Use business acumen to analyze opportunities and risk at company and project level.
  • Understanding of accounting and finance models for long-term, multi- million-dollar projects.
  • Improve profitability by reviewing Gross Margins, Estimated costs at completion
  • Oversee cash management.
  • Improve profitability by reviewing gross margins and project costs.
  • Implement KPI s to monitor project expenditures.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance.
  • Responsible for production, review, and distribution of standard monthly management reports
  • Lead the annual corporate audit as the company point of contact by preparing and providing statements schedules and works papers as requested by the audit firms
  • Produce and deliver data in synergy with Corporate Finance requirements, IFRS standards, and Company practices.
  • Ensure financial integrity of all company financial information, reports, best practices, and policies
  • Ensure compliance with local tax rules
  • Develop and implement proper financial policies and procedures for record keeping.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, from public accounting or industry
  • Project Accounting experience in the Construction or Engineering experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance, financial controlling, budgeting, treasury
  • Knowledge of OneStream and HFM consolidation software is a plus
  • Experience with IFRS Standard 606 (Revenue Recognition) preferred
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP standards
