TRANSPORTATION OPERATIONS MANAGER

THERE ARE THREE (3) OF THESE POSITIONS OPEN IN VIRGINIA:

1. Harrisonburg: This position requires 5 plus years experience in transportation plus experience and knowledge in live haul (poultry)

2. Edinburgh: This position requires 5 plus years experience in transportation plus experience and knowledge in live haul (poultry)

3. Manassas: This position required 5 plus years experience in transportion

ALL OF THE ABOVE REQUIRE THE BELOW:

• Provides strong leadership and demonstrates a positive attitude to encourage excellent office morale and a positive office culture.
• Takes immediate corrective action on issues that arise during load transportation, ensuring driver wait time for load information as well as wait time at pickup and drop-off locations is kept to a minimum.
• Ensure trucks operate safely and drivers are maximizing drivable hours each week.
• Schedules truck maintenance with the shop and makes the shop aware of repair issues that need to be addressed.
• Manages and holds the Dispatch and Logistics team employees accountable for achieving agreed upon commitments for all areas of responsibility and individual team goals.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience with the transportation industry
• 5 years of management experience - must have experience leading sales, operations, and office functions.
• Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Suite, transportation software, and internet logistics tools
• Has excellent leadership skills and gains the respect of the employees.
• Adapts to rapid changes in the work environment.
• Uses time efficiently, prioritizes tasks, solves problems, and develops new procedures.
• Effective communication with customers, coworkers, subordinates, and Executive Management in a professional and constructive manner.
