Experience: 12+ years of relevant professional experience with Bachelor's, 8+ with Master's, 5+ with PhD Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Security: Current / active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph or willingness to take one. Background investigation required, including a minimum of a criminal and credit check as well as at least three professional references. Role Overview: Pelagic AI is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and manage robust LAN/WAN infrastructure that supports mission-critical business systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in ensuring network stability, high availability, fault tolerance, and scalability. In this role, you will demonstrate deep competence in LAN/WAN technologies, troubleshooting critical network issues, and providing technical guidance during implementations. Responsibilities include mentoring and training junior engineers, conducting technical presentations, and testing new hardware and connections for proper configuration and performance. The position requires a TS/SCI security clearance and certifications such as Security+ CE, GSEC, SCNP, and SSCP, as well as 3-5 years of experience in network design and support. You should have expert-level knowledge in routing and switching platforms (BGP, RSVP, LDP, MPLS, OSPF), Ethernet Layer 2 protocols (VLANs, RSTP, MST), and a solid understanding of TCP/IP (IPv4/IPv6). Familiarity with Cisco, Brocade, and Juniper hardware is essential, with Juniper Networks Certified Specialist or Professional certifications being highly desirable. This role offers the opportunity to research new technology solutions and drive their implementation to enhance the network's performance and security.
