Come Join Our Team! APK Solutions is a government contractor providing professional and technical services to the intelligence community. We are currently looking for a User Experience (UX) Specialist to join our winning team. The individual hired for this position will provide support for our government customer located in McLean, VA. Primary Responsibilities Include: Design briefings and digital announcements Conceptualize visuals based on requirements
Prepare rough drafts and present ideas to CRI Front Office
Develop illustrations, logos, and other designs using software or by hand
Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic and/or web design
Work with writers and CRI Front Office to produce final design
Test graphics and webpages for 508x compliance and usability
Amend designs after feedback
Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
Redesign internal website using WordPress
Maintain SharePoint Site as an Administrator and provide configuration support for new and current pages Requirements:
The User Experience (UX) Specialist shall demonstrate the following abilities:
Proven work experience as a web designer
Demonstrated graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps
Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools
Proficiency in languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for rapid prototyping
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction
Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
Up-to-date digital projects
Coordinate the creation of digital content (e.g. website, blog, press releases, and podcasts)
Conceptualizing original website design ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex roadblocks
Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, or Web Development or 5 years of on the job experience
Portfolio requested: Portfolio may include copies/screen captures of up to four examples of web development utilizing previously identified design software and web technologies (Photoshop, Illustrator, or other visual design and wire-framing tools; and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript) that demonstrate required Web Developer abilities.
