Job description

Position Purpose: The Residential Supervisor- Community Living position is a leadership role. The incumbent has the responsibility of decision-making and supervision of the residence(s). The incumbent has a significant impact on the operation and service delivery system within the residence(s). Ensuring that individual rights and needs are continually upheld, and met, is critical for the program and agency. The is a primary point of contact for individuals, families and other agencies, which gives this position a high point of visibility in the community. The incumbent, through effective leadership and problem-solving skills is primarily responsible for effective operations. Primary Duties: Effective leadership and supervision of the facility Scheduling the proper amount of staff needed to meet operational and individual needs Train new employees and ensure all staff are current in program and agency core trainings such as First Aid, CPR, OSHA, CPI, etc. Ensure the residence(s) are continually in compliance with State and local standards and regulations of the Department of Licensure, Department of Medical Assistance (Medicaid ID Waiver), Department of Health, Department of Social Services, HUD, and Food Bank etc. Operates residence(s) within allotted yearly budget Oversees and assists individuals with their personal finances Responsible for Individual Support Plan development, implementation, schedule of supports monitoring, person centered planning, which includes ID waiver billing Communicates with Support Coordinators to ensure individual satisfaction Responsible to be on call 24 hours for emergencies and essential communication Follow all applicable policies and procedures of VersAbility Resources Provide support for community integration efforts and HCBS Rights Compliance Other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to administer a systems approach Ability to foster positive relationships Ability to multitask Ability to administer regulations and standards Ability to manage work/priorities Knowledge of industry best-practices and standards Knowledge of licensing requirements for programs Knowledge of certification requirements for programs Knowledge of accreditation requirements for programs Knowledge of legal requirements for programs Knowledge of regulatory requirements for programs Skill in organization Skill with written communication Skill with oral communication Education: Bachelor's degree in the Human Service field or other related field preferred but not required. Experience: Two years' experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and a minimum of one year supervisory experience. Environmental: The incumbent typically works in an office environment and spends considerable time at responsible group home(s) and on occasion visits individual day programs and work sites. Work sites may be industrial locations which could involve various hazardous situations.
