Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care for the Elderly

Day Shift (Hours: 7a-7pm Weekend & Holidays - per department guidelines)

Christiana Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to work in the Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) Unit in Newark, DE.

In this role, we work closely to deliver care that supports older patients facing acute illness. The patient population, for this unit is older adults, typically age 70 and above. Our focus is maintaining function, providing education, and maintaining safety! As a member of the 6A team, you will engage in a genuine relationship-based care model, building relationships with patients and families as well as with your peers, guided by our values of love and excellence.

Our Nurses will assist in managing a team of 5 medical patients per shift and work with the interdisciplinary team that includes a unit-based Nurse Practitioner, an attending and consulted physician, a pharmacy, a physical therapist, and other assistive personnel.

General Requirements:

  • BSN required.
  • ADNs candidates are required to commit to obtaining BSN within three years of the date of hire and can be considered with relevant experience.
  • Qualified applicants will have at least one year of experience.
  • Demonstrate a passion for working with the older adults.

  • Gerontology Certification preferred.

  • BLS required.
