Job description

Job Title: AutoCAD Specialist / Engineering Technician
Location: Ft. Monroe (Hampton), VA or Boston, MA
Job Status: Full-time Sseeking talented AutoCAD Specialists and Engineering Technicians to support a U.S. Navy program requiring extensive AutoCAD and HM&E engineering expertise. These roles involve ship checks, system integration, and the development and modification of technical drawings. Responsibilities & Duties: Conduct detailed ship checks to assess ship system conditions.
Develop and modify AutoCAD drawings.
Provide technical reviews of ship information packages, Ship Change Documents (SCDs), and Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs).
Visualize and portray complex design features, ensuring any issues with manufacturing, assembly, and installation are resolved.
Interpret general designs and complete minor details for shipboard systems.
Draft and review electrical wiring schematics and plans.
Required Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience: 2-3 years of experience in shipboard mechanical, electrical, or structural design.
2-3 years of experience with AutoCAD software.
Proficiency in mechanical measurements using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and radius gauges.
Ability to visualize and portray complex designs, determining necessary views and supplementary details.
Experience with shipboard systems integration preferred, but not required.
Strong communication and PC skills.
U.S. Navy engineering experience is a plus.
Other Requirements: Education: High school, trade school, industrial school, or military school graduate. Formal CAD training preferred. An engineering degree is a plus.
Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Clearance: Ability to obtain a SECRET security clearance required.
Travel: May be required.
