Apex Systems is hiring for a Senior Communications Network Engineer with a large government client supporting the Navy & Marine Corps in Norfolk, VA! This position requires a currently active, DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance.

Hours: You will work in collaboration with the Hawaii team, need candidates open to working Hawaii day hours REQUIREMENTS:
Active, DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance
Bachelors degree in IT-related field AND 4+ years of hands-on network engineering experience (will accept 4 additional years of experience in Lieu of degree)
CompTIA Security+ Certification
One of the following IAT Level III Compliant Certifications: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, or GCIH
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification (or ability to obtain within the first 6 months of employment) Responsibilities:
Provide Information Assurance Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and thought leadership for the largest Intranet in the world. A qualified candidate for this position would be responsible for network design, integration, test, security, and implementation of Transport Services for the as-fielded NMCI network.
Collaborates with Network Domain Architects to define and/or continuously improve:
Audits and Reviews STIG compliant configuration baselines, versioning, and compliance tracking.
Test and Validate Automation and best practice insertion opportunities.
Leads development of SOPs/TTPs.
Continuous Service Improvements (CSI).
System performance tuning and enhancements.
Create and maintain Engineering Implementation Plans (EIP).
Extensive knowledge of defense-in-depth principles, Network and Security architecture, network topology, IT device integrity, and common security elements.
Plans and executes network upgrades and maintenance activities with the NMCI Operations Manager, NOC Lead, Release Management team and other key stakeholders.
Tier III escalation support and vendor engagement supporting Incident Management activities.
Active participation in Root Cause Analysis for Problem Management activities. Desired Qualifications:
Previous work experience providing support to the NMCI program is highly desired.
Experience with Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager (CPPM) identity management solution.
Advanced/Professional level vendor certifications (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto).
Demonstrated NET/SEC DevOps experience.
ITIL v3/v4 certification/training.
Agile certifications or applicable experience. SCA Benefits You Will Receive: + $4.57/hr added to your hourly wage for every hour you work within a 40 hour work week
